Stolen car, truck, trailer leads to arrest of Brownvale woman

May 8, 2019 | 5:04 PM

Incidents that involved a pair of stolen vehicles and a stolen trailer have landed a Brownvale area woman behind bars.

Peace Regional RCMP were dispatched on Sunday evening to a call regarding a truck and trailer theft from a business in the St. Isidore area. Police discovered at that time that a suspect had arrived at the business in a car that had been stolen from a home in Grimshaw earlier in that day.

The truck and trailer were found in the Northern Sunrise County area along Highway 986 later that evening, where the suspect was seen hitch hiking outside the truck. The suspect was then picked up by the passing motorist, but the suspect did not get far as she was arrested by RCMP soon after that.

Twenty-nine-year-old Misty Rose Lawrence is facing charges that include:

  • Break and enter to commit theft (x2)
  • Theft of a motor vehicle (x2)
  • Theft over $5000
  • Resisting a peace officer (x2)
  • Operate a motor vehicle while prohibited (x2)
  • Failing to comply with conditions of recognizance (x6)

Lawrence remains in police custody and is scheduled to appear in Peace River Provincial Court on May 13.
