Commendation of Bravery

Pair of Grande Prairie RCMP officers awarded Commendation of Bravery

May 18, 2019 | 7:00 AM

Awards for bravery, outstanding service, life-saving and long service to four RCMP officers were awarded in Edmonton yesterday and two of them hailed from Grande Prairie

Sargent Shiloh Fragomeni, Constable Darren Jensen, and Corporal David Lee were recognized with bravery commendations for their response to call of a complaint of a suicidal male in a residential area, on November 6th, 2015.

Both Fragomeni and Jensen hail from Grande Prairie.

A male had a firearm pointed at his chest with his finger on trigger and after trying to communicate with the man, he pulled the trigger on the firearm which did not fire.

Fragomeni, Jensen, Lee and one other member took possession of the gun and took the man into custody.

The Commendation of Bravery recognizes courage in the face of dangerous circumstances beyond routine police work.
