Fish and Wildlife looking for lady who bought illegal turtles

May 19, 2019 | 7:34 AM

Alberta Fish and Wildlife is trying to track down two turtles that are illegal to own in the province.

The department says the two Map turtles were advertised online as Sawback turtles, and were sold to a woman in Fort McMurray in December.

Map turtles are known as carriers of salmonellosis and pose a potential public health hazard. They may not be sold, purchased, or possessed in Alberta.
