City puts fire advisory in place

The City of Grande Prairie has issued a fire advisory.

This means no new open burning permits will be issued in the City of Grande Prairie until conditions improve in the GP Forest Area.

Any open burning that requires a permit through fire prevention and consumer fireworks displays are temporarily suspended.

All burn barrels/incinerators, backyard fire pits and approved campsite fire pits are still allowed at this time.

Gas or propane barbeques can still be used and do not require a permit.
