LaBrie steps down as Head Coach of Athletics

The Grande Prairie Athletics will have a new man behind the bench for the 2019-2020 season.

Wayne Labrie has stepped down as Head Coach of the North Peace Hockey League Champion Grande Prairie Athletics according to a Facebook post made by the Athletics late Wednesday night.

Labrie spent just one season behind the bench for the Athletics as Head Coach, but it was a memorable one for both the organization and the city.

The club went on to win the North Peace Hockey League title in thrilling fashion as they knocked off the Dawson Creek Canucks 3-2 in overtime in Game 6 of the league final.
