Power outages reported in some parts of Grande Prairie Thursday morning

UPDATE: (12:45 pm) ATCO says the power is back on in Grande Prairie.

Update: Power expected to be restored at approximately 2:30 p.m. according to ATCO.

Earlier: There are reported power outages in the city including the neighbourhoods of Lakeland, Crystal Lake and Avondale.

ATCO Electric says they have received dozens of calls about the outages and that the cause was due to damage of one of their transformers.

Techs are en route to fix the problem and power should be restored by 10:30 a.m.
