City of Grande Prairie lifts fire ban

Less than 24 hours after the County of Grande Prairie lifted their fire ban the City of GP has done the same.

As of Friday morning, at 9 a.m. residents are allowed to use open burning permits which includes open burning, backyard fire pits, burn barrels, and fireworks.

The recent rain and cooler temperatures have brought the fire index level down to an appropriate level to lift the ban.

However, the Grande Prairie Fire Department does remind the public they do require a permit before proceeding with any open burning activities.
