Grande Prairie Highland Games all set to go at new location

A new location welcomes this year’s edition of the Grande Prairie Highland Games.

After years of holding it at Macklin Field, the 32nd edition of the Highland Games is moving to the Montrose Cultural Centre.

Gates open at 8 am this morning with competitors from across Canada and the U-S expected to take part in events like the Caber toss, Hammer throw, Shot Put and tug of war.

There will also be dance competitions inside of the Teresa Sargent Hall, with other events include the Haggis toss, medieval fair, children’s activities and the brand new Kilted run.
