Edmonton school bus driver facing charges after erratic driving incident

EDMONTON – Charges are pending against an Edmonton school bus driver after she allegedly drove her bus over a curb, knocked over a street sign and stopped in the middle of the road.

Police say there were about 20 elementary school students on board when officers stopped the bus around 3:40 p.m. Tuesday in a southwest neighbourhood.

They say at one point, witnesses saw the bus weaving in and out of its lane.

The 39-year-old driver was arrested, but there is no immediate word on what may have led to her erratic behaviour.
