Edson woman killed after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 43

A young woman from Edson has died after she was struck by a vehicle on Highway 43 in Whitecourt.

RCMP were called to the scene this morning around 5 a.m.

According to officers, an SUV was travelling on Highway 43 when it collided with a pedestrian in town at 51^st Street.

The 25-year-old died at the scene. The person driving the SUV was not injured.

No charges have been laid and the investigation is ongoing.
