Pirates win Provincial crown

The Grande Prairie Pirates Fastball club are Provincial Champions.

The Pirates were in Calgary this weekend to play their best-of-five Provincial final with the Irma Tigers.

After splitting the first two games on Saturday, the Pirates would come out Sunday and earn a pair of wins to claim the Provincial crown.

This included an extra innings victory in Game 4 to secure the banner.

Another Provincial banner will also be coming home to the Swan City.

The Grande Prairie Masters Pirates also won their Provincial title over the weekend.

Both Pirates squads will be competing at the 2019 Men’s and Master Men’s Canadian Fast Pitch Championship which will be in Grande Prairie at the end of August.
