MIRACLE TREAT DAY

Miracle Treat Day to support Children’s Miracle Network goes Thursday

Miracle Treat Day at Dairy Queen is here again.

Today, net proceeds from all purchases of a Blizzard Treat at both Dairy Queen locations in Grande Prairie and across Canada help support the Children’s Miracle Network member hospitals.

The Dairy Queen – Children’s Miracle Network partnership began in 1984 in support of sick and injured children across North America.

Gabby Buchanan, an employee at the north side Dairy Queen in Grande Prairie, says they are busy all day every Miracle Treat Day.

“Very very busy, we get lots of orders from everybody in town which is great.”

Buchanan says preparation for each years Miracle Treat Day is also quite busy.

“We have people phone in the orders, and then we get all the cups and lids and everything ready, so that when it comes to Miracle Treat day in the morning, we just start making all the Blizzards and have them ready to go.”

The Children’s Miracle Network raises funds and awareness for 170 children’s hospitals across the United States and Canada, and more than 10 million sick and injured kids visit a Children’s Miracle Network Member Hospital every year.

Although Miracle Treat Day only happens once a year, Dairy Queen’s partnership with the Children’s Miracle Network is a year-round commitment, and they continue to accept donations throughout the year.
