Cleanup efforts underway following sour natural gas release
On Tuesday, August 13, the Alberta Energy Regulator was alerted of a sour natural gas release into a tributary of the Beaverlodge River.
The incident occurred approximately 4 km southwest of Hythe on a pipeline owned by Canadian Natural Resources Limited.
Approximately 3 cubic metres of condensate and 4,000 cubic metres of sour natural gas was released.
At this time, environmental consultants are on the site collecting water samples of the Beaverlodge River and the tributary.
