Homicide in Kelly Lake Friday; suspect in custody

A homicide in Kelly Lake on Friday has led to a second-degree murder charge against an Alberta man.

Dawson Creek RCMP were called to a home in Kelly Lake, which is located about 20 kilometres west of Goodfare and about 85 kilometres west of Grande Prairie, on August 16 just after 7:30 p.m. pacific time on a report of an assault.

A 54-year-old man was found fatally wounded upon police arriving to the scene. The 24-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene without incident.

Morgen Lambert-Bouma is now facing a second-degree murder charge as a result. He was to appear in Dawson Creek Provincial Court yesterday.

RCMP say that both men were known to each other prior to this incident.

The North District Major Crime Unit in B.C. has now begun an investigation into the case. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Dawson Creek RCMP at 250 784-3700 or Crime Stoppers at 1 800 222-8477.
