A hotel owner in northern Alberta got more than fresh air when he briefly left the front door of his business open last week.

A restaurant server at the Red Earth Inn near Red Earth Creek told the owner on Friday that she thought she saw something enter the lobby.

A check of security video showed a black bear wandering through the entrance, peeking over the front counter and checking out the vending machine before walking out.

The owner says he will rethink keeping the doors open, especially after lunch.
