Peace Regional RCMP say they recovered what they call thousands of dollars worth of stolen property during a traffic stop in Peace River Sunday.

Mounties spotted a vehicle displaying a stolen license plate while doing patrols.

After pulling the vehicle over, they arrested two women and recovered the items they say were stolen from individuals and businesses. They also found stolen identification documents.

A 27-year-old Peace River woman, Kelly Laverne Ominayak, is facing a half-dozen charges of possession of property obtained by crime and three more of failure to comply with conditions. She has been remanded and is due in court on September 30.
