GPRC women’s soccer undefeated in weekend set with Lakeland
The GPRC Men’s and Women’s soccer teams have returned from the border city after a double header this past weekend with the Lakeland College Rustlers.
The Women’s squad leaves Lloydminster undefeated, as they won 5-1 on Saturday and pulled out a draw on Sunday.
Saturday’s game was all Wolves from the opening kickoff, as they fired 24 shots at Rustlers goalkeeper Nicole Pruim in the first half alone and led 3-0 at the break thanks to a flurry of goals from Sydney Kelly, Madi Gillespie and Emma Close. All goals were scored in a 3:38 span.
Close added her second of the game midway through the second half, while Cassidy Stromberg added one of her own. The Wolves ended the game with 34 total shots, 20 of which were on net.
