RCMP investigate sudden death of a woman in Peace River

UPDATE 3:15 p.m.: Peace River RCMP say they are investigating the sudden death of a female.

They were called out just before 1:50 a.m. today to a report of an injured person and found the woman’s body when they arrived.

Police add that 77 Avenue between 98 and 99 Streets will be closed until sometime Wednesday as the investigation continues.

No other details have been released.

October 8: Residents are asked to avoid the area of 77 Avenue between 98 Street and 99 Street on the north end of Peace River this morning as officers are investigating an incident that occurred overnight.

Numerous police resources are at the scene of 98 Street and 77 Avenue.

The immediate area is blocked off and pedestrian and vehicle traffic will not be able to get through.

Police say there is no concern for public safety and more information on this investigation will be provided when it’s available.
