Some truckers exempt from new Alberta training standards

Alberta’s transportation minister says some transport truck drivers will be permanently exempt from new training standards announced in the wake of the Humboldt Broncos bus crash that killed 16 people and injured 13 others.
Ric McIver says the exemption is only for drivers with clean driving records.
He says drivers without a clean driving record will need to retest under the new safety rules.
The April 2018 Humboldt crash was caused when an inexperienced truck driver from Alberta blew through a stop sign at an intersection.
