JDA Kings looking to snap losing skid in Friday NWJHL action

Oct 18, 2019 | 7:07 AM

The JDA Kings will be looking to shake their losing skid tonight at the Crosslink County Sportsplex, as NWJHL action sees a full slate of games on tap across the league.

Losers of four straight, the County of Grande Prairie squad welcomes the North Peace Navigators in hopes of picking up their first win since September 28.

Now they might be facing the right team in the right place tonight to shake out of that slump, as their last victory came against those very same Navs at the Sportsplex. That doesn’t guarantee anything for the Kings, though, as the Navs have contributed to their four-game skid with a 4-0 shutout win in Peace River exactly one week ago.

Elsewhere around the league has the Sundown Oilfield Services Sexsmith Vipers at home to the Fairview Flyers.

It’ll be the second meeting of the season between the two clubs, with the first one ending up as a slug fest at the Fairplex that the Flyers came out on top of with a 9-6 win. Eric Dentinger and Kyle Cairns each had five points in that game for Fairview.

The other game tonight features the two B.C. clubs, as the Dawson Creek Junior visit the Fort St. John Huskies.

The Canucks are coming in winners of three straight and sit atop the league standings with a 6-2-0 record.

All games get underway at 8:00 local time.
