McDonald’s warns Edmonton restaurant to change name for fish sandwich

McDonald’s Canada is not “Lovin’ It.”

The burger giant is warning a fast-food restaurant in Edmonton to stop serving a product with a name similar to one of its own.

Paul Shufelt, the owner at Woodshed Burgers, says he has been told he can’t use the name “Effing Filet O’ Fish” for his cod burger.

McDonald’s says the similar product names will confuse consumers.

Shufelt says he had a couple of chuckles that the corporation is concerned about his 49-seat restaurant.
