Flyers dump Kings to close out NWJHL weekend schedule

Oct 21, 2019 | 8:53 AM

The Fairview Flyers bounced back from their loss on Friday to close out weekend action in the North West Junior Hockey League.

The Flyers got goals from Sage Joachim, Thomas Dechant and Kyle Cairns to lead them past the JDA Kings 3-1 on Sunday at the Crosslink County Sportsplex.

The game was scoreless until late in the second when Joachim was able to slip his second goal of the season by Cameron Beson to give the Flyers the 1-0 lead.

Dechant would score the eventual game winner just 2:49 into the third period on the power play. Blake Gillingham would answer that back with a power play goal of his own midway through the third for the Kings, but Cairns would add an empty netter with a 1:20 to go to ice the game for the visitors.
