Death at Atikameg First Nation ruled as homicide

The High prairie RCMP responded to a call of a deceased male on the Atikameg First Nation early Sunday, October 20. The man was found on the road, and confirmed dead at 7 am.

Several units were involved in examining the scene, including the Grande Prairie Police Dog Services, the Peace River Forensic Identification Section, and the General Investigation Section.

The RCMP Major Crimes Unit has since taken over the investigation.

An autopsy was done in Edmonton on Tuesday, October 22, and the results found the 35 year old man’s death was a homicide.
