Huskies roll past Kings on home ice

Jared Winkel and Jared Loewen each scored twice as the Fort St John Huskies hammered the County of Grande Prairie JDA Kings 11-3 in NWJHL play on Friday.

Jeridyn Loewen, Dean Whitcomb, Geoff Dick, Joel Bourgeois, Cayden Frenette, Alex Nimmo, and Aiden Tegart also scored for the Huskies.

Whitcomb ended the night with five points, while Jared Loewen added a pair of helpers to his two goals.

Blake Gillingham, Bailey Hartman and Tanney Davy replied for the Kings, who fell to 3-7-1 with the loss.

Elsewhere in the NWJHL on Friday night, Chaston Paul and Owen Chamberland each scored twice as the North Peace Navigators knocked off the Sundown Oilfield Services Sexsmith Vipers 5-2.

Robert Lemay also scored for the Navs, while Ty Deleeuw and Turner Walker replied for the Vipers.

And in Fairview, Chase Henrickson scored twice in regulation and added the shoot out winner as the Dawson Creek Junior Canucks edged the hometown Flyers 5-4.

Brandon Rowley and Max Arnold also scored for the Canucks, who battled back from a 4-2 deficit to force extra time.

Noah Ross, Rylee Hebert, Remee Richard, and Eric Dentinger scored for the Flyers.

There are three games on the schedule for Saturday, including the Kings hosting Vipers at 8 pm at Crosslink County Sportsplex, Fairview at Fort St John, and North Peace at Dawson Creek.
