Early season struggles continue for GPRC Basketball, men’s Volleyball teams

Both GPRC basketball teams, along with the men’s volleyball team, are still looking for their first win of the season after action this past weekend.

The basketball teams welcomed Concordia from Edmonton for their home opener weekend.

The men’s team fell 77-65 on Friday – with Liam O’Hallahan leading the way for the Wolves with 17 points, and dropped a 96-81 decision on Saturday despite a 27 point performance from Darian Goertzen.

The women’s team is also 0-and-4 to start the year after losses of 73-52 on Friday, and 71-30 on Saturday.

Kelly Reid was top scorer both night for the Wolves, as she netted 21 points on Friday, and 6 points on Saturday.

The Men’s volleyball team was swept in three straight both Friday and Saturday night by King’s University College of Edmonton to fall to 0-and-6 on the season.

The women’s volleyball team did manage a split of their matches in Edmonton against King’s, winning 3 games to 2 on Friday before being swept in three straight on Saturday.

Their record for the season now sits at 3-and-3,
