Crowsnest Pass RCMP safely locate missing hunter

Crowsnest Pass, AB – Mounties have located a 48-year-old overdue hunter.

Crowsnest Pass RCMP say they were notified late in the evening on November 26 that the Pincher Creek man had not returned home after going hunting in the afternoon.

Family reported that he was an experienced outdoorsman, according to RCMP. An initial search for the man was unsuccessful.

The following morning, Nov. 27 at 7:00 a.m., a coordinated search was conducted by Crowsnest and Pincher Creek RCMP, Search and Rescue, Conservation Officers and Alberta Fish and Wildlife.

At 6:30 p.m., the man was located in good health in the Beaver Mines Lake Road area. He told crews that a vehicle breakdown had caused him to be stranded in the area overnight.
