Comp High went under hold and secure as RCMP investigated threats

Grande Prairie’s Composite High School went into a hold and secure early this afternoon.

Grande Prairie RCMP Constable, Candace Hrdlicka says the school imposed the hold and secure shortly after noon, when some threats came to their attention.

“No students or anybody in the school was directly threatened. However, while police sorted that out, the school placed itself into a hold and secure, just locking all exterior doors. However, inside, the school continued as normal.”

Hrdlicka says that none of the threats involved parties in the school, but at the time that the school were made aware of the threats and called the police, that information wasn’t known.
