Dec 2, 2019 | 12:39 PM

Two men are facing several charges related to a stolen truck, and fleeing from police.

At around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, Grande Prairie RCMP’s Crime Reduction Unit were called to a gas station in Clairmont, responding to a report of stolen truck.

When officers arrived on the scene, the suspect truck attempted to flee, making contact with a police vehicle before heading north. The truck then swerved to avoid another police vehicle, hitting a ditch, a fire hydrant and several trees, before coming to a stop.

Thirty-six-year-old Trevor Unrau and 27-year-old Travis Paradon-Netzlaw, are facing several charges, including possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and possession of break in instruments.

Unrau is also facing charges of mischief over $5,000, mischief under $5,000, flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and two counts of failure to comply with recognizance.

Both men are to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on Monday, December 9, 2019.

The RCMP are continuing the investigation into this incident, and asks anyone with information to contact the Grande Prairie RCMP Detachment at 780-830-5701, or report it anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
