Kings and Jr.Canucks all even heading back to Dawson Creek

Mar 6, 2019 | 6:14 AM

The Dawson Creek Jr.Canucks have tied their North West Junior Hockey League series with the JDA Kings at two games a piece.

This after they held on for a 2-1 victory at the County Sportsplex Tuesday night.

Dawson Creek faced some adversity though early in the contest as it was the Kings who opened the scoring 6:46 into the game off of the stick of Corbin Doram.

The Jr.Canucks evened the game early in the 2nd period as Brandon Rowley found the back of the net and then Rowley would help set up the go ahead goal by Chase Henrickson to give Dawson Creek a 2-1 lead.

Despite being out shot 36-32, the Jr.Canucks would hang on for the victory and head back to Dawson Creek with the series tied.

Game 5 is scheduled for Friday night.

The other NWJHL semi-final series between the North Peace Navigators and the Fort St.John Huskies will resume Wednesday night in Peace River with the Huskies leading the series 2-1.
