It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear sister, aunt, and great-aunt Elizabeth “Betty” Alice Bisgrove. Betty passed away at the QEII Hospital in Grande Prairie on Saturday, October 19, 2019. She had just celebrated her 81st birthday.
Betty was born at Pipestone Creek, AB to Hilda and Ron Bisgrove on October 10, 1938. She started her working years at a logging camp as a cook’s helper, then moved onto the Grande Prairie Dry Cleaners for a few years until she found the job she loved with AGT. She had just celebrated her 25th anniversary with AGT when she experienced a brain aneurysm in 1976. After a long rehab she lived in her own home until she moved into Points West Living in Grande Prairie.
She leaves behind her brother Gord (Margaret) of Widewater, AB, sister Margaret Bisgrove (Doug) of Sturgeon County and sister Dorothy (Jack) of Canmore, AB; nieces: Sandy, Shauna, Kim, and Rachelle; nephews: Darrel, Dwayne, Kenny and Brent; as well as many grand and great grand nieces and nephews.
Betty will be missed by her family and many friends for her love of people and her sense of humour. She was known at Points West for her spunk, witty comments and helping hand.
Betty was predeceased by her brother Ken in 1969, father Ron in 1990, and mother Hilda in 1995.
The family would like to thank the staff at Points West for their great care of Betty and Shauna Head and her Family for looking after Betty’s daily needs and giving her the love and attention needed.
Betty will be missed by her family who loved her dearly. She is in her final resting place now with her parents and brother Ken. RIP in Betty.
We invite everyone to Betty’s Celebration of Life on Thursday, October 24, 2019, at 3:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).
In lieu of flowers, Betty’s wish was for memorial donations to be made to Jumpstart (https://jumpstart.canadiantire.ca/).
