Kings continue to roll while Athletics bounce back with road win

Make it four straight wins for the County of Grande Prairie JDA Kings.

A pair of late third period goals from Bailey Hartman helped secure a 4-1 win for the Kings over the Sundown Oilfield Services Sexsmith Vipers.

Brody Thomson and Darby Berg also scored for the Kings, while Hunter Wells replied for the Vipers.

One other game in the NWJHL on Friday saw the North Peace Navigators score four unanswered goals to erase a 3-1 deficit to beat the Dawson Creek Junior Canucks 5-3.

Cole Ford, Owen Chamerland, Daniel Noskey, Cole Isaac and Jonathan Noskey scored for the Navigators, while Dustin Bahm with two and Mason McLeod replied for the Junior Canucks.

All six teams in the league will see action on Saturday, as the Kings will host Fort St John, Fairview visits the Vipers, and the Junior Canucks and Navigators play the back half of their home and home series, this time in Peace River.

Meanwhile, one night after suffering their first loss of the season to Dawson Creek, the Grande Prairie Athletics bounced back with a 5-2 road win in Manning in NPHL action.

Tyrone Kipling and Riley Boomgarden each scored twice for the A’s, while Bryce Lipinski added a goal and an assist.

Mark Simpson and Layne McClean replied for the Comets.

Action in the league resumes Saturday night as the Comets travel to Falher to face the Pirates, while Dawson Creek heads to Grimshaw,
