Alberta’s Fair Deal Panel to stop in Grande Prairie December 18
Peace Country residents will get to have their say on how Alberta should go about getting a “fair deal”.
The government appointed Fair Deal Panel will be making a stop in Grande Prairie on Wednesday, December 18. The town hall event goes from 5:30-7:30 p.m. that evening at the Teresa Sargent Hall at the Montrose Cultural Centre.
The stop is one of 10 across the province for the nine-member panel, whose mandate is to come up with recommendations on how to best advance Alberta’s economic interests within confederation, such as getting more pipelines constructed.
Some ideas the panel is looking into includes withdrawing from the Canada Pension Plan in favour of a new provincial agency, creating a separate provincial police force and establishing a formalized provincial constitution.
