Grande Prairie not included

Snowfall warning issued for northern Peace Country

Dec 10, 2019 | 8:13 AM

Many municipalities to the north of Grande Prairie have been placed under a snowfall warning by Environment Canada.

Those include Birch Hills, Saddle Hills and Clear Hills County and the communities that lie within them. The warning also encompasses Fairview, Grimshaw, Falher, Spirit River, High Prairie and Peace River. The warning extends all the way north to the Northwest Territories border.

The warning is not in effect for the Grande Prairie area.

The weather office says a system developing south of Rainbow Lake this morning will bring heavy snow fall to the area. They are calling for 10 to 20 cm to fall by Wednesday.

Environment Canada warns of quickly changing conditions where visibility may be suddenly reduced. Plan ahead and drive to the conditions in the area.
