Good day for GPAC teams

Grande Peace Athletic Club teams went 2-and-1 on Saturday.

Reigning AMHL Player of the Month Ty Toews scored twice to lead the Ernie’s Sports Experts Major Midget Storm to a 4-1 win over the Calgary North Stars.

Campbell Mclean and Cam Wiebe also scored for the Storm, who visit the Calgary Buffaloes on Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Zackary Shantz scored the winner with 12:27 remaining as the Golden Arrow Bantam AAA Storm edged Parkland 3-2.

Spencer Brazel and Connor Bak also scored for the Bantam AAA Storm, who host the Saints again Sunday morning at 10 at Crosslink County Sportsplex.

The only blemish on the day saw the Boston Pizza Minor Midget AAA Storm faall 5-3 in St Albert.

Tyson Buchan, Devin Johnson and Carter Kreller scored for the Storm, who visit South Side Athletic Club at 11:45 Sunday morning.

And Christina Friesen had the lone goal for the PCFAC midget elite female Storm as they fell 2-1 to the North Central Impact in Leduc.

The girls visit Sherwood Park on Sunday.
