JDA Kings winning streak comes to an end against Fairview

On Sunday the JDA Kings saw their six-game winning streak come to an end as the fell to the Fairview Flyers 9-3.

The Flyers opened the scoring with two goals in the first period from Zacheri Schlachter and Logan Mazerolle, while Geoff Dick of the Kings would add a goal to make it 2-1 after 20 minutes of play.

From there it was all Flyers as they would score seven goals in the final two periods to help give them a 9-3 win.

For the JDA Kings both Darby Berg and Geoff Dick would finish with three-point nights.

The Kings will look to bounce back on Friday as they travel to Fairview to face the Flyers. Puck drop for that game is 8:00 p.m. at the Fairview Arena.

Huskies remain hot against Navigators

In a battle between the top two teams in the NWJHL the Fort St. John Huskies completed their weekend sweep of the North Peace Navigators winning by a score of 6-3.

Brady Marzocco would start the scoring 16:19 into the first period to put the Huskies up 1-0.

In the second period the Huskies took control of the game with goals coming from Alex Nimmo, Gary Loewen and Joel Bourgeois making it 4-0 with just over 13 minutes left in the second period.

The Navigators would show some fight to close out the second period with two goals from Cole Ford, but in the end it wouldn’t be enough to complete a comeback. Fort St. John would go onto add two more defeating the Navigators 6-3.

Fort. St John will be in action on Wednesday as they take on Dawson Creek at home.

The North Peace Navigators will travel to Fairview to face the Flyers on Wednesday.
