Heat warning issued for the Grande Prairie area

Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Grande Prairie and area. 

The weekend is forecasted to be warm with temperatures reaching 29 degrees during the day and 14 degrees overnight. The string of hot days is set to end Monday as a cold front moves into northern Alberta.

Co. of Grande Prairie near Beaverlodge Hythe and Demmitt
Co. of Grande Prairie near Grande Prairie and Wembley
Co. of Grande Prairie near Sexsmith and La Glace
M.D. of Greenview near DeBolt
M.D. of Greenview near Little Smoky
M.D. of Greenview near O’Brien Prov. Park and Big Mtn Creek
M.D. of Greenview near Sturgeon Lake
M.D. of Greenview near Valleyview and New Fish Creek
M.D. of Greenview near Wapiti and Shuttler Flats Rec. Area

It is recommended people take frequent breaks from the heat, spend time indoors, drink water, and never leave a person or pet inside a closed vehicle.
