RCMP charge three in connection with string of recent mail thefts

The Grande Prairie RCMP have charged Justin Heaven of Grande Prairie, Shawn Robson-Harder and Ashley Howard of Edmonton in connection with a string of recent mail thefts following the execution of a warrant on December 19, 2019.

RCMP say approximately 160 pieces of mail and packaging, 18 pieces of Government issued ID and 10 forged pieces of ID including drivers licenses were found during the search, among other stolen and forged items.

The three have been charged with the following:

  • Three counts of break and enter to commit theft of mail
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Possession of break-in tools
  • Possession of stolen mail
  • Possession of instruments for copying credit card data
  • Possession of credit card data
  • 18 Counts of possession of government identity documents

Heaven is charged additionally with break and enter to commit theft of mail, uttering a forged document, theft of mail, identity fraud, and failing to comply with an undertaking.

Robson-Harder is charged additionally with two counts of identity fraud and fail to comply with probation order.

Howard is charged additionally with two counts of break and enter to commit theft of mail and three counts of fail to comply with recognizance.

Heaven, Howard and Robson-Harder appeared in Grande Prairie Provincial Court December 23, 2019, and have been remanded for court appearances in the first week of January, 2020.
