Suspicious death outside Edmonton apartment Christmas morning

Edmonton police say they are investigating a suspicious death early Christmas morning.

Police were called around 7:20 a.m. after it was reported shots were fired in an area northwest of downtown.

They say a 28-year old man was found outside an apartment building.

Emergency medical services responded to the scene and the victim was treated by paramedics, but died a short time later.

Police say witnesses reported seeing people leave the area in vehicles.

Detectives from the homicide section say they would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the death.
