Three locals named to AMBHL All-Star Game

The Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League announced the rosters for the upcoming 2020 AMBHL All-Star Game Monday afternoon.

The roster features three players from the GPAC Golden Arrow Storm.

Defenceman, Wesley Golden, and forwards, Carter Hensch and Zackary Shantz were all named to the North Division team.

Shantz currently sits fifth in the AMBHL scoring race and second in scoring for the North Division with 23 goals and 36 points in only 23 games.

Golden, a defenseman has 10 points in 19 games, while Hensch, a forward, has 17 points in 22 games.

The All-Star Game is celebrating its 30th year. The game has seen several former players get drafted to the NHL including Tyler Benson and Stuart Skinner by the Edmonton Oilers, Sam Steel by the Anaheim Ducks, Noah Gregor by the San Jose Sharks, and Kyle Clauge by the Los Angeles Kings.

The game brings in scouts from Western Canada as well as the United States.

The game is in Edmonton on January 11 at Bill Hunter Arena. Puck drop is at 2:30 p.m.
