Freezing rain warning ended for Grande Prairie, Peace River areas
A freezing rain warning was been issued for the Grande Prairie, Beaverlodge and Valleyview areas, as well as the Peace River area earlier today.
Just before 10:30 a.m. Environment and Climate Change Canada issued the warning, saying freezing rain was, or was expected to be, occurring in the western sections of the Grande Prairie region and southwestern sections of the Peace River area late Friday morning, and that the freezing rain will end in the early afternoon.
The weather authority warned that highways, roads, and walkways may become icy and slippery due to the rain. They also advised travellers to exercise caution as conditions change.
By 1:30 p.m., the warning had ended for the Grande Prairie area, but was still in place for most of the Peace River area.
