One injured in tank explosion east of Grande Prairie

One person was injured in a tank explosion east of Grande Prairie on Tuesday, January 28.

County Regional Fire Service crews from the Clairmont and Dunes stations were called to the scene, north of Highway 43 on Range Road 53, at around 4:00 p.m.

Upon arrival, crews found there was no fire, and attended to the individual, suffering from unknown injuries caused by the explosion. Alberta Health Services medical responders attended the scene, and took over care of the individual.

Crews used gas monitors, and found there was no remaining hazard from the explosion.
