The latest Extreme Cold Warning has been lifted and Environment Canada is forecasting highs near minus 4 for Saturday and minus 1 for Sunday.
There’s still time for that to change, but March did come in like a lion, so that must mean the worst is over, right?
Last month was the second coldest February in the past 50 years. Only 1979 was colder. This February the average high was minus 16.8 and the average low was minus 30.3. In 1979 the average high was minus 21.7 and the average low was minus 29.1.
Spring is just around the corner, it arrives Wednesday, March 20 and many locals are hopeful the latest cold warning is the last for this winter and if the saying is correct, March will go out like a lamb.
