Book-buyers liking first-ever children’s book by Grande Prairie author

A Grande Prairie author says her first-ever published children’s book has been getting a great reception since it was released last November.

Sarah Jones says he wrote the book titled Evalina’s Egg when she and her family lived on Vancouver Island.

“We used to take a lot of walks there. I think somewhere in the midst of one of those, and out with our kids, I think just the magicalness of this one trail, in particular, we used to call the Fairy Trail, I just sort of envisioned all the little creatures that could have a life in there.”

She adds having her own family was one reason she wanted to write a book for kids.

“We’ve got five children and so we actually create films and stories now. We love just creating content for kids. We feel like we know kids. We’ve got kids of all ages of our own, between an infant and a 12-year-old, so that is definitely one reason.”

Jones says her husband and daughter also helped create this book.

Several local stores sell the Evalina’s Egg, plus it has been added to several libraries. It is also available on Amazon, where it has gotten several five stars out of five reviews.

There are plans to release French and Spanish versions around Easter.
