Storm drop high scoring affair in Sherwood Park

After a scoreless opening period, the Grande Prairie Storm and Sherwood Park Crusaders opened up the offensive flood gates over the final 40 minutes of their game on Saturday night.

The teams combined for 12 goals, with the North division leading Crusaders picking up a 7-5 win.

Carter Savoie scored twice for the Crusaders, giving him 48 goals for the season in just 46 games.

Meanwhile, Ethan Strang scored twice and added an assist to lead the Storm attack, with singles added by Nathaniel Bierd, Devin Sutton, and brent Loukus.

The Storm tied the game on two occasions in the third period, and pulled to within 6-5 late in the third before AJHL scoring leading Arjun Atwal sealed the win for the Crusaders with an empty netter in the dying seconds.

The Storm wrap up their road trip in Spruce Grove on Sunday afternoon before returning home to host Drayton valley on Tuesday and Wednesday, and the Calgary Canucks on Friday.
