Snow Removal

Snow clearing begins in Wedgewood on Friday

Feb 13, 2020 | 10:50 AM

County Crews will be in the Wedgewood neighbourhood on Friday, February 14, to clear the roads of snow and ice.

Temporary parking restrictions will be in effect from 7 a.m to 7 p.m., and “no Parking” signage may be posted in and around the neighbourhood. Vehicles left on the street may be ticketed and/or towed.

Residents are also reminded to not pile or push snow from driveways, sidewalks, or their property onto the roads, as it slows the snow clearing process and can create a traffic safety hazard.

The crews will be in Clairmont next week, where they will begin snow removal work from 100 to 113 Avenue. More details on the snow removal process and schedule can be found at the County of Grande Prairie’s website.

Meanwhile, City crews have finished clearing priority 1 and 2 routes, and have begun work on priority 3 roads. Crews are also actively sanding main roads and the City’s trail network.

The City also has a parking ban in effect along permanent snow routes.

More up to date information on snow removal is routinely posted on the City and County’s social media sites.
