UPDATE (5:00 a.m. Feb. 14): The snow squall warning has ended in all areas.
Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a snow squall warning for many parts of the Peace Country Thursday evening. Those areas include the County of Grande Prairie near Beaverlodge, Hythe and Demmitt. The warning spans north up to the Peace River area, as well.
The weather office says convective snow squalls are occurring along a cold front from Nampa to Rycroft to Dawson Creek. They add that front is heading south at 30 km/h.
Snow squall warnings are issued when bands of snow form that produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities. The weather office says to prepare for rapidly changing conditions.
