Grande Prairie Old Timers’ Association to hold 91st Annual Banquet

The 91st Annual Banquet for the Old Timers. Association of Grande Prairie is set to go on March 18 at the Jackpot Grill & Events Centre.

Doug Spry, board member for the association, says they will also be giving scholarships to four recipients at the banquet who meet certain criteria.

“They must be a descendant of a pioneer that came through on one of the trails, Edson Trail or the Long Trail, prior to March the fifth, 1916.”

Spry adds that there will also be a presentation from the South Peace Regional Archives at the banquet.

The Old Timers Association of Grande Prairie was first formed in 1928, and the first banquet was held in 1929.
