County of Grande Prairie taking precautions to minimize spread of COVID-19
The County of Grande Prairie says they are doing what they can to minimize the spread of the novel coronavirus.
So far, events such as the Farm Family Banquet and the Agri-Show have been postponed.
Dan Lemieux, Community Services Director with the County, says they are following Alberta Health’s recommendation to cancel events of 250 people or more, and protecting those who are more at risk for the virus.
“(The) Farm Family Banquet was an example where there was going to be seniors… Alberta Health Services doesn’t want a gathering of more than 50 people, if seniors are involved. So, that would be, certainly, an example of that.”
