Storm sign forward Quinn Strang from SMHL

The Grande Prairie Storm signed forward Quinn Strang from the Swift Current Legionnaires of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League on Wednesday.

Strang registered 33 points in 43 games for the Legionnaires last season and finished fourth on his team in team scoring.

Storm scout Jason Bertram says that Strang brings passion and a hard work ethic to the team.

“When I saw Quinn for the first time, he stood out as playing with a lot of passion; rightfully wearing a letter for the Legionnaires. He’s a big physical player that can skate with offensive upside. The more I watched him play, the more I was excited to get him in a Storm uniform for next year,” said Bertram.

Storm General Manger Mark Bomersback also spoke highly of Strang.

“Adding a guy like Quinn and the character he brings with him is exactly what we want to bring into the dressing room. Along with his hockey attributes, he’s a very mature kid that is a team first guy,” said Bomersback.

Back in January Strang signed a letter of intent with the Storm, and he is now fully signed and will suit up for the Storm next season.

Despite the shared last name, Quinn has no relation to current Storm forward Ethan Strang.
