Bomersback resigns

Storm, GM Bomersback part ways after three seasons

Apr 4, 2020 | 3:47 PM

The Grande Prairie Storm have announced that General Manager Mark Bomersback has resigned from his position, effective immediately.

The team made the announcement on Saturday afternoon, calling the move a mutual decision.

“President Murray Toews accepted Mark’s resignation,” reads a statement from the team. “The entire organization wishes Mark the best in his future hockey and personal pursuits.

Bomersback had held the General Manager position since 2017, when he took over for Kevin Higo.

During his tenure, the Storm made the playoffs in all three seasons he was at the helm. However, they managed to get out of the first round just once (2017-18).

In the statement released Saturday, the team closed by saying this is not the last move the team plans to make to its front office.

“The team expects to make further hockey operations staff announcements in the near future.”

The team also parted ways with Business Manager Eric Hein earlier this week.

A decision is still expected to come for Interim Head Coach Ryan Aasman, who took over for Matt Keillor part way through this past season.
